Lang Leav and Peter Morrissey are miles a part. Morrissey is an Australian fashion icon with his classy, edgy style and Leav 25, is watching her gothic inspired label Akina take off around the globe.
Leav is a year into a mentorship with Morrissey after winning the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards.
She beat hundreds of other fledgling fashion labels to win $10,000 and most importantly, advice from a professional.
“The opportunity to travel to Japan and secure stockists in Tokyo is a dream come true,” she said.
Morrissey said Leav’s attention to detail and her quiet confidence made her stand out from the rest. “She's a beautiful girl and she herself, resembles her art.”
